encoded using the latest DivX+ technology?

I have downloaded a UTorrent Movie, and would like download it and put onto a DVD.

I get the message "This movie has been encoded using the latest DivX+ technology, if you are having trouble playing this video please try Microsoft Windows Media Player (WMP). Windows Media Player should automatically update any security patches or out of date codecs"

I want to convert the UTorrent to play on my iPad3, I am told I do not have WMV
Can anyone please tell me how I can overcome this problem, please?

I am using windows 7 ultimate
I have tried Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate. With no luck
