If a recipe calls for "all purpose flower," can you use whole wheat flower...

    ...interchangeably?

i.e. Can you use 2 cups of whole wheat flower in a recipe that calls for 2 cups of all purpose flower?

First use "flour" rather than "flower"
Do not replace more than half of the all purpose flour with whole wheat flour. Typically in the case you gave it is best to use 1 1/4 cup all purpose and 3/4 Cup whole wheat use that proportion the first time then adjust the next if you think you could still use more whole wheat.
