How to poach an egg in a microwave?
I make poached eggs using one of those poached egg pans with the little plastic cup that suspends over water. You heat the water and it steams the eggs making perfect poached eggs. It has a glass lid so you can tell when they are cooked.
Anyway... The wife does care work and she's asked me to try and find out how she does the same in a microwave. She has a call where the lady has a poached egg however they are not allowed to use the cooker - rules are rules!
The lady has some sort of poached egg cooker that goes in the microwave. The wife said she used it last time and nearly blew the kitchen up.
Can anyone tell me how you do it? I've heard people say to fill a cup with water and drop the egg in then microwave for a few minutes. Is this the best and safest way?
