Corn bread tamales?

I know how to cook and season the meat. I only find corn bread tamale pie recipes. I want to spread the corn bread on corn husks to make individual tamales not tamale pies. I don't know if I should steam or bake the tamales. All recipes for corn bread are baked but tamales are usually steamed. God forbid the husks catch on fire in the oven! lol I don't even know if it would be possible to spread the corn bread mix on corn husks. I have never cooked corn bread before. Help!
