Thread: Why do gay/lesbian Americans think they deserve special rights?

So often, I hear people claiming that gay rights is a civil rights issue. This is completely false. Gay and lesbians have exactly the SAME rights as any other American. Namely, a gay man can marry a woman. A lesbian woman can marry a man.

You say, "But that's not who they are attracted to! It's not fair!"

So you're telling me America should accept the perversion of same-sex "marriage" because some people are attracted to the same sex? Are we also going to legalize child marriages for pedophiles and child molesters because they're attracted to children?

You say, "It's not the same thing -- a child is not a consenting adult. Gays and lesbians are consenting adults"

So what you're really saying is that America will need to change the legislation that dictates who is and who isn't considered a consenting adult -- so that anyone older than 1 day old will be considered a consenting adult?

I'm sorry, but this issue that same-sex "marriage" proponents keep raising is not an issue at all. Marriage is between a man and a woman.

We need to be treating those who choose to embrace perversions like homosexuality and pedophilia, not appeasing it. Wake up America -- your foundation is crumbling fast.

Note: I asked this question a while back and was astounded that the majority of liberals thought I was calling homosexuals pedophiles. As a result, none of their responses made any sense. If you thought that was the thesis of my question, re-read the question.

Why did blacks ask for it, or any other minority. They deserve the right to have the benefits of being in a committed relationship. Heck, heteros have destroyed the sanctity of marriage with the divorce rate so let them have a shot.

You have stated it very well...and if the liberal judges pervert the law you will end up with gays suing churches as they will not perform the ceremonies as it is against their religion. Last I checked that was a violation of the 1st amendment as to freedom of religion...so that is under attack as well...

I guess when you don't believe ia a fair and just God, then anything goes!

Not special rights, just equal rights. The same rights you are afforded.

You are the one making the connection between homosexuals and pedophilia and i don't think it is by accident. If you can ask a question without your sleazy prejudiced references you might get an straight answer.
