Can you give the specific years like Before Common After and B.C
Where did they go? Look around you just might see one.
You sort of have to define your terms. Homo erectus preceded the Neanderthals. Neanderthals are thought to have emerged 230,000 years ago. There are sites in Africa that indicate they are possibly more ancient..There is a cave site in Israel for those making that claim. We are Cro- Magnon or modern humans or (homo sapiens sapiens), which emerged 40,000years ago BP .
What happened to the Neanderthals (homo sapiens neanderthalensis) is a matter of heated debate and much controversy among scientists.
This debate centers around whether those species merged (Neanderthal and CroMagnon) or one killed out the other, or whether.they developed along parallel lines. It appears the Neanderthals had generalized tool culture that changed very slowly, whereas the CroMagnon were more specialized and developed more rapidly. On that there is consensus.I hope that helps!
