Thread: What are the difference between a closet gay guy and openly gay guy?

I agree with everything said above this, but also...sometimes people who are obviously gay acting are not out of the closet. For instance I know a girl who looks like a man who is a lesbian...she is totally in the closet and her parents pretend not to know because they are religious. So sometimes even those who are very very gay looking try to hide it and stay in the closet.

a masculine gay guy is closet guy and effeminate is an openly gay guy? who doesn't care what people say about his acting? sometimes. I don't understand why do we called closet to this? hiding our sexuality... meanwhile others are more obvious without telling any word.. only the acting is enough.

"In the closet" means that they haven't "come out" yet...he hasn't admitted it to anyone.

"Openly gay" means that he has told people.

A closet gay is one who tries his best to pass himself off as a straight guy. An open gay is more flamboyant and, if asked, will willingly admit to being gay. One is proud the other is ashamed.
