Thread: Is there any movie about gay youth?

I was wondering if there's any movie about how is it growing up gay in a community and about hiding 'in the closet' knowing he's gay

Not that I know of, certainly not enough honest ones anyway. Most cable movies dwell on the negatives and the stereotypes. The movie "A Beautiful Thing" is fairly honest, but deals with boys discovering that they're gay instead of living a closeted life. Maybe the world is still waiting for a good, honest screenplay.

For The Bible Tells Me So is a good one. It's not entirely youth centred, though. It's a documentary from the perspective of gay and straight Christians who've learnt to overcome their own homophobia and the homophobic attitudes around them. You can watch a bit of it on the link below. The whole thing is uploaded in parts on youtube.
