This person lets call her Jane. Had a bf and they were goin out for a long time and i knew about that, then a few months later, she broke up with him.Noe "Jane is now going out with this girl, lets call her "Sarah". is this just a phase, and "jane"will get over it soon, or is she just gay now????

Only Jane can answer. There are a lot of new studies being done, but most of them suggest that sexual orientation in women is more "fluid" than in men. In other words, if a woman likes another girl and starts feeling attracted to her, she is more likely to try to have a relationship with her because she falls in love with the person, not the girl. It's very possible that Jane had a boyfriend before, and then fell in love with Sarah, and now realizes that she is a lesbian (and maybe that's why the whole boyfriend thing didn't so much work out). Or she could just be experimenting.
