    Question on Gay Marriage?

Without being bitter, political or rude, please answer this in a logical and heart felt way.

If a gay or lesbian couple have a MARRAIGE, with all the legal rights of a marriage that is recognized in all jurisdictions....

Why do you feel it would be such a threat?
Yeah, well, with the current divorce and adultry rates, marriage in the US has already lost that, with no hope of getting it back.
Nah, the question is a reversal of one that was posted here in lgbt a few mins ago that I answered

the post asks why we need it to be called marriage if a civil union gives all the same rights

I personally support gay marriage, it's a threat to no one.

If you're looking for an opinion different than your own, you might want to ask the same question over at R&S.

    I wouldn't.

I'm so tired of hearing idiotic responses like "gays will destroy the sanctity of normal/straight marriage".

Do these morons mean the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55 hour marriage?

Or that more than half of ALL straight marriages end in divorce?

Which absurd "argument" will they use next to promote the "sanctity" of something that straight people have so obviously desecrated to kingdom come?

You know I figured the first response in would be something like 'It compromises the integrity of heterosexual marriage', and to the people who answer that I have 2 further questions.

How does it compromise the integrity of Hetero Marriage?

Don't you think that Adultery, divorce, single parenting, etc have compromised the integrity already? ANd if so, then why not stop those people from marrying as well?

I think people are afraid of the fact that it goes against what they believe. What I mean is their religion tell them that marriage between a male and a male and a female and a female is wrong. And "traditional" marriage is the right way to go. But by seeing that people are legalizing gay marriage they get frighted. I think something in their brain/heart gets triggered and the start to think "If this sort of sin becomes good in the eyes of the law and people, what other kind of sin will start being seen as good"

I'm gay and I believe that people should have the right to be happy no matter what. I'm disapointed they put a ban on issue 8 in California. One day we will be able to have the right to marry our loves ones, until then I'm bidding my time just being hopeful.

    Hope this helped.
