Oh do not listen to "Sage". He has absolutely no idea what he is talking about.

The Tanakh does say some harsh things about homosexuality. It also says that we should stone our children to death if they disobey us.

We've grown alot in 3000 years. For most temples and synagogues, your sexual orientation is a complete non issue. In any event, perfection is not a Jewish value or goal. One should aspire to be a good person, not a perfect one.

Although we do not encourage conversion as it is not an easy process to be taken on lightly, I can assure you that if you were to convert you would be considered as Jewish as someone that can trace their family back one hundred generations....back to when their ancestors converted. Very few of us are direct descendants of Abraham...who essentially converted.

answer: Reform would be the way to go, definitely. In most Reform congregation there's no question about acceptance of gays and lesbians and they don't ask about your life.

Some Orthodox are accepting if you don't "act" on being gay.

    Conservative - congregation by congregation.

You'll get some quotes from Lev. - some interpret those a bit differently than the Orthodox or as fundamentalist Christians do.
