representing as effeminate? I never had seen a gay masculine until the movie brackeback mountain.. but.. I dont know gays who are masculine.. how can you detect them?

It's not that many gays are representing as effeminate. You just don't notice the masculine ones as much because they're harder to detect and not stereotypical like the effeminate ones.

sure, sometimes the masculine guys are hard to find. but there are subtle ways to figure those guys out....

if there's a guy that you're interested in, send signals that you want to spend time with him, smile a lot, make eye contact, just hang out.

a little bit of physical contact, even just brushing your arm past his, or patting him on the shoulder can be hints for him. see if he does the same back. if he's straight, these signs will go right over his head.

Most people have told me that there are alot of masculine gay men. I have met one. I actually made out with him. He was a cop. He was very butch. He hanged out with all the straight guys at the gym and was extremely good at basketball. No one knew that he was gay. Other than him, I have not met any. I don't go to gay bars, so... I think there are just as many femmes as Butches, but femmes are more noticible and I think Butch gay men keep to themselves and don't go to the gay bars. In the end, it doesn't matter. People are people, whether they are feminine or masculine, we should all love one another and be supportive of one another.

If you paid attention to the movie... most of their friends and family didn't know about them either... BECAUSE they didn't fit the stereotype.

That doesn't mean we don't exist.

You don't have to "detect" them. Just be open, be yourself, and if they find you attractive they will come to you.
