Because it doesn't really matter even if everyone else knows that you are. The bigger question is have you alone accepted it. That you were ok with it.
So, how long? Months, years, decades, never? Perhaps its truly a continuing journey.
What were your greatest hurdles? What was the single greatest stride you made towards that end of accepting YOU?

People say "Proud to be Gay."

For me it seems to have been that I was too proud to BE gay...or to accept being gay. Killing my pride, not all of my pride, but on this one specific issue of being gay made an enormous difference.
