How come other species of the genus "homo" dont exist anymore, but primates do?

for example, how come neanderthals dont exist anymore but monkeys still do. since monkeys are primitive compared to neanderthals

I always thought they were different species but in my world geography classes I think they said were just evolved versions or something. But I could be wrong, im still confused on this lol

There are too many genetic differences. Also animals with the same species can usually successfully reproduce together. Humans are unable to reproduce with any species other than other humans.

As to why other species under the genus homo are extinct, it's because they apparently "evolved" into modern humans. I personally don't believe there were previous human species and that the skeletons found were just primate skeletons resembling humans. But that's just my opinion.

Sometimes ancestral lines die out and become extinct, but they feel no obligation to become extinct just because they gave rise to a new line that considers itself to be superior. If that were the case, there would be no animals on earth but man.
