B is true.
C might be. I would eliminate C. First off, it doesn't specify if it could have been an old world monkey common ancestor etc. If it C too (meaning D), the questioner is an idiot. Go with B.
Some people believe that H. erectus was the first out of Africa. Some scientists, such as the discoverer and Peter Brown, believe that Homo floresiensis indicates it likely had a small bodied ancestor. If that is true, it is likely that it was H. habilis or an Australopithecine. In addition as I stated above, they didn't specify. The first human ancestor to leave Africa might have been a reptile for all we know.
I am not so sure sirbyrn. Homo georgicus may or may not be from an erectus. It is possible that H. habilis left Africa and co-evolved in Asia. The sad thing is I expect Sirbyrn is probably correct. They probably do want D. When people believe they know things they don't, science isn't helped. As stated, it is probably just a poorly worded question from someone that hasn't kept up on new findings.
It’s D. The question is poorly stated, but the clear implication is that they are only talking about species that are likely ancestors of modern humans but not of modern chimps. Home erectus is the oldest such species for which we’ve found fossil remains outside of Africa.
