Thread: gay friends, how do you handle it if you're straight?

I have recently met this lesbian girl (I am straight). She went through a painful breakup with her ex gf who happens to be her roomate. She told me that she was very sad about it. I don't have a bf, so sometimes I feel lonely too. I like meeting new people and having friends.

She called me and asked me if we could meet for lunch. She knows I am straight. But I am kind of scared here. Should I? I mean, I don't want to give her any wrong idea.

just be her friend i mean are you saying gay/lesbian people cant have friends that ar boys/girls?

Just chill, if she knows you are straight why would she make a move on you?
If you start to feel uncomfortable like she is trying to do something

then just make it clear that, that is not what you wanted out of your friendship or w.e

It's ok to be her friend. If she asks you out or give you any intimate signs just be straight with her right away. Another solution is, when your with her, talk about a guy your crushing on, she'll either get the picture, or take it as a challenge.
