Christians who are against gay marriage............?

    .....why are you against it?

I am against it for numerous reasons however I realize that not all our reasons are the same.

For one, gay marriage goes against the Bible:

Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a man as he lies with a woman, it is an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be on their hands.

God HIMSELF is QUOTED as telling Moses this.

Also, gay marriage CHEAPENS heterosexual marriage because it makes it less sacred.

    Also, it's about TRADITION.

The Bible historically documents that the first relationships were to be between ONE man and ONE woman. Yes, polygamy did exist in some rare cases, but MONOGAMY came first in human history.

Plus, NO ONE is saying people can't be gay and be together.

Seperate but EQUAL civil unions will provide gay couples with the same legal rights as we have just as long as they stay in the state they were united in.

There are alternatives to gay marriage, but these people seem to pretend like they don't exist.

Also, this is a slippery slope. If you want to make gay marriage legal, what's next?

POLYGAMY? You want to make that legal too?

Plus, children turn out better if they are raised by ONE man and ONE woman. They need both sexes. This has been PROVEN in SCIENTIFIC studies.

    So, those are my reasons.

What about yours? Why do you think it should be banned?

Nice rant that you attempted to disguise as a question. Surely it wont be up for long. Furthermore, when you present 'facts', it would be nice if they were true. You fail.

Y'know, personally, I think everyone should have equal rights and equal privelleges. Yes, everyone.

However, yes when children are brought into it, I am a tad concerned about the effect it will have on them. Maybe it will have no effect but children are cruel... if my parents were gay, there would've been merciless teasing at school.

That is, until culture completely accepts homosexuality as normal, and teaches children that it is fine. Then everything will be all dandy.

Yes, but it is also PROVEN in SCIENTIFIC studies that heterosexual couples have a higher divorce rate than homosexuals. Then the child would only have one parent. What's your point?

Do you believe that because your specific religion forbids something it should be outlawed?

YOUR RELIGION DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERYONE.

If you want to restrict the freedoms of others based on your beliefs, you oppose religious freedom. You're evil. You're no different that somebody whose barbaric religion forbids, say, interracial marriage and is not satisfied with not practicing it himself, but wants to prevent everybody else - even non-believers - from being allowed to do as they choose.

You're the reason christians are hated and despised.

P.S. Interracial marriage wasn't legal in all 50 states until 2000, because of people like you.
