I have met many celebrrities as I used to run a Rolls Royce Chauffeur company.
To tell you the truth, most of them are very boring. Nearly all of them are very nervous and insecure because they know that their stardom can come to an end very quickly.
It is also extremely hard work, especially for the performers further down the bill. For example I knew a couple of guys who put on a puppet act. They were always first on in a show that was travelling around the UK
They had to get to the theatre first each day to set up their scenery. Then they would have time to eat before going back and putting on their make up. After their act, the next backdrop would come down in front of their scenery but they couldn't remove theirs because it was too bulky. It had to stay there.
They couldn't go anywhere because they had to take a bow in the finale so would just sit in their dressing room playing cards.
After the show was over they had to dismantle their scenery, load it in the back of their van and go back to the hotel, usually not arriving until gone midnight.
Then they had to be up very early next day to drive maybe 100 miles to the next theatre where they would unload and set up and off we go again.
This would happen every day for weeks with just Sunday's off.
THAT is the bottom end of show biz and there's nothing glamorous in it at all.
