Why does Hollywood likes to 'remake' asian movies?
The Grudge VS Ju-On (japanese movie)
The Ring VS The Ring (japanese movie)
One Missed Call VS One Missed Call (not sure about movie, but i know there is a japanese drama series on this)
The Eye VS The Eye( Chinese movie but based on thailand story)

It's more fun to watch white people that it is to watch asians. White movie goers are a little afraid of asians because they're so good at math.

Probably because they're good movies but most Americans won't bother watching subtitled movies so they remake them for an American audience. And of course...money is always the main motivator.

Because apparently, creativity and orginality are dead in Hollywood.

Because Japanese horror movies present new and refreshing horror movie formats. Besides, they really are creepy.

Because those are cheap to make - you don't need to hire Johnny Depp for $20 million right? They earn good money every time, so they will keep going back to that well.
Why don't they show the originals? Because Americans don't read subtitles!
