Sometimes, that's all they have to look up to. They may not have a parent/guardian/friend who they can "idolize" so the celebrities are readily there.

well celebrities are always depicted as flawless, beautiful, popular, famous, and rich. Inside, we have a little part that wants to be all those things but we know better that to look up to a spoiled heiress or a celeb whos constantly on the tabloids. But little kids look up to the disney or nick stars (that will probaly turn into the tabloid celebs example: vanessa hudgens, lindsey lohan) because they dont know better
