I don't want to know what celebrities are doing every day, I like there songs and give them props for being able to live life and have people follow you everywhere and never leave you alone.
I don't understand why people look to the celebrities like that and want to be like that. its not a hard job just a very stress for one. besides they get payed for a talent.
while doctor, lawyers, and so on go to school for a number of years to get payed for s skill to help you maybe even save your life but no one admires them. most people bit there heads off (no literally, its figure of speech)
so why do people treat celebrities like gods? and think there all that when their the same as us?
i can do what they did i just don't want to because i don't want fake friends and people saying they love me when they don't know a G**D**n thing about me.
can you explain it to me? why? why is it so important?
Why do people constantly ask this question all the time? If they don't care about celebrities, then why bother pondering this question? Get out there and live the life you claim you have that the celebrity admirers in your eyes apparently don't. *sheesh*
As for your remarks about doctors and lawyers, there are some who "worship" them too, especially when they're extremely successful. They're often a target of golddigers looking for a sugardaddy (or sugarmama). Just depends on the circles you run in.
There are many degrees to fandom. Most of the balanced people enjoy the music, the movies, the books, etc and aren't interested in attempting to be BFF with the star, then there's those who will simply die if they don't know even minutae that the media puts out there. The ones who are constantly stalked by tabloids and paparazzi 24/7 actually put themselves out there. There are MANY working actors and musicians who have normal lives and aren't splattered all over the media. Some of them deliberately fly very low under the radar in fact...and focus on what they do best: perform or create. So it's really a choice.
FTR you can still be a nobody and have "fake friends"... take a look at facebook and myspace and there's your proof.
Well, some are worth admiring, like the Jonas Brothers. They're perfect idols. They're awesome guys and great role models, and they sing amazing music! If you listen to their lyrics, you can really look inside them and see what they're feeling and that's incredible to me. They're really living the dream, and I think that's important to their fans, because they're not like Miley Cyrus, fame wasn't handed to them on a silver platter. They worked hard to get where they are, and the fame they have is what they deserve, and that's why we look up to them and love them!
they feel that celebrities are these super humans because they have fame and fortune. also they admire them because it distracts them from their own lives
I agree with you to a point.
I think the reason so many people chase after celebrities is for the drama. Celebrities almost always are getting into trouble and I think it makes us "average joes" feel better about our lives when you see how insane the life of a star can be.
However, I agree that "regular" people such as doctors should be praised MUCH more than celebrities. Celebrities, for the most part, just ended up being in the right place at the right time when they got discovered. Acting isnt really a hard thing to do, it just takes practice. Music does rely more on talent, but even then ALOT of people can sound good with all that editting. It is rather annoying to see people (who for the larger part) dont have educations and never really did anything special except pretend to be someone else.
And what makes it worse is they make a RIDICULOUS amount of money for doing what they do. Back in the day, acting was a poor-mans career. In truth, its the people who obsess over celebrities that GIVE them such popularity and who pay those millions of dollars.
I am not completely innocent, I have bought my share of movies and enjoy reading the odd People magazine. I would just never stoop so low as to follow these people around and really "care" about what they do in their life.
two things.. people enjoy wishing that was them
and people like to hear the dirt on other people and watch people with the lifestyle they want crash and burn.
i don't know. we should be admiring our astronauts and researchers looking for a cure for cancer. then maybe people would want to be them and we'd actually benefit society.
i mean, i love movies and music, but it is a little weird. i think a large majority of movie stars probably don't want to be photographed every second. but then it's the fault of ordinary people who buy the magazines. i don't know. it's messed up for sure.
i like the celebrities that use their fame to put the attention on some important things. but i don't like when they get free stuff. the richest members of society should not be getting free stuff when we have tons of people who are losing their homes. i mean, i'm all for a free world, but seriously. and that's the fault of the people that give it away.
oh well. the world is strange. =]
but as for why we read this stuff? it's a distraction from our otherwise mundane lives. oh gosh now i sound like a cynic. but like right now? i should be working on some calculus, and instead i'm doing this and looking up world news. weird. it's because i'm a procrastinator. i'd rather focus on other people's problems than my own. but i read an interview or something once where prince william or prince harry said something about how they try to not have sycophants hanging aroung but it's hard. so i feel especially bad for people that don't ask for it. like royalty and jk rowling. a scottish lady i talked to over the summer said that she has to employ security for her daughter to deter kidnappers, and that's sad.
