I think it all depends on the celebrity. Some celebs will purposely put themselves out there to get press and they won't care if it's in negative or positive ways. Others try to keep their private lives as private as possible. So ti varies just like it would when you're examining any group of people or situations. My personal opinion in regards to the media though is that they are too much. They really do nose in a lot of times in places where they shouldn't. And it's getting even worse nowadays. With the internet becoming such a major playing factor in everyday life, it certainly affects this. Once upon a time paparazzis just took photos of celebs. Now you have video everywhere and celebrity bloggers on top of every single celebrities' moves. It scrutinizes everyone's last moves so much more than it used to. I think that ultimately portrays celebrities in a more negative light than positive. I live in Hollywood and see this crud all the time. It's sickening really. How would joe schmoe feel if a paparazzi was on his butt all day and all night? So my opinion is the media needs to be toned down several notches.
