Celebrity Sexy Teeth whitener scam
I, like many, fell for this products pitch and found it to be just a scam. They do deliver the product and yes it is a legitimate product that has some whiteneing capabilities, but their claims about 3-8 shades whiter is just ridiculous and the results are minimal. From what legitimates studies have been done, it appears Crest whitening strips are the best product aside form getting professional whitening done at a dentists office.
If you go to teh Celebrity sexy web site web site you will find that it is contains no info about the supposed company, its location, phone #'s, any contact info, its history, ownership, news, etc, nothing at all. That should be the 1st clue that it's not for real.
When ordering the product, you would think that they would offer an 800 phone number that you could call and provide a credit card #, or have an address that you could send a check or money order. After all, many people don't have credit cards or don't have access to a computer,, I mean come on, any legitimate company would at least have operators standing by. They are losing a ton of money by not having that in place. But, they do not want that as they would be beseiged by angry customers demanding a refund or asking why the product doesn't work, etc.
Then, there's the "Best Teeth Whitening Products review". Look closely at this review and you'll notice again that there are no references, no contacts, no phone numbers or anything,, it's simply an Ad that was probably written by Celebrity Sexy Brite, but is made to appear as if it is an independant study. Who authored this thing? No names are given.
Next, try to find any positive customer feedback on the web and all you will find is a couple responses that strangely appear as if they are written by the same person, all claiming how great the product is.
Finally, try googling and getting much info on the product and you will find little to nothing. If this product is the greatest thing ever, as they claim, why then would there not be tons of reviews and info on it?
No, this is a scam. And, I have to admit it's pretty well done. I envision one person that sells this product out if their garage or apartment somewhere and is laughing all the way to the bank. They are probably one of those off shore companies that the FDA can't touch. The product itself is a small tube with milky type liquid and a tiny applicator. The packaging appears somewhat amateurish and homemade. The bottle is small and has a tiny little applicator wand.
They sell it by occassionally running the "Review" as an advertisement for a day on Google or Yahoo, appearing as if they are a news article on a teeth whitening study that was conducted and touts this product, but look closely and its just an Ad. The date on the ad is automatically changed to todays date each time it's visited, making it appear to be a brand new, hot off the press news release. The product is sold through a legitimate online processing site and it's secure. The fee of $50 per bottle is steep, but if you think about it, its pretty ingenious as it helps lend credibility to the supposed effectiveness of the whitener, ie, it's hot and in demand and expensive because it is such a quality product. But, when you receive it, you have to laugh at how cheap it actually looks. In fact, I bet the entire cost of manufacturing and packaging (again, likely assembled in a garage or basement somewhere by this person) is probably 10 cents max. But hey, the shipping is free.
I sent a request in for a refund and received a credit to my credit card immediatley. They are smart enough to not mess around and attract too much attention to themselves. And if you think about it, they probably have @ 40% return rates while the rest of the people just don't bother to get a refund, likely just throwing the stuff away and shrugging their shoulders at being scammed.
It's a pretty sweet deal and whoever the person(s) are that are selling this stuff, they are making money on a simplistic, turn key operation. I am jealous I didn't think of it 1st!!!
However, I think I will try and find something similar that I can sell on the web. A couple of Fake studies, or testimonials, deliver a legitimate product, gladly refund monies and laugh all the way to the bank. You gotta love it!!
