Is the Econo Lodge Hollywood safe, is it a safe neighborhood?

We are travelling from Canada to the US for the first time, and staying in Los Angeles. We have booked a room at the Econo Lodge Hollywood, for price and convience to everything. Please let me know if this is a safe neighborhood and if the hotel itself is decent.

The neighborhood itself is decent enough. This is a perfect example of a "budget" motel. However, it seems to be clean enough, and the neighborhood isn't bad. Based upon my knowledge of the area and the reviews on tripadvisor.com, I would recommend it with the assumption you know it's a budget hotel with no frills.

For people who want to stay in the Hollywood area, I usually recommend the Renaissance Hotel, the Holiday Inn Walk of Fame, or the Best Western Sunset Plaza.

It's quite nice. I wouldn't worry.
