I have a 2006 Malibu, my a/c adapter works to charge my phone and works to power...
...my laptop, however it will... not work to power my radar detector, I have tried it in other cars so I know it's not the radar detector and I have tried other radar detectors in my car, I don't know why it will not power them, any ideas?
It is the transformer type that is used to convert the power. Your car is not producing a clean sine-wave and the radar detector doesn't like it so they don't work.
I have 2 laptops, one works just fine on the a/c inverter, the other will not have anything to do with it.
