fuel gauge problems on a 98 civic!!!!!please help?
my fuel gauge has been acting weird for a min now....every time am driving and i press on the gas pedal my fuel gauge meter would go down.....the car would have a half tank when its started then it would have a almost empty tank by the end of the day(driving home to work and back-12/17miles total) then it would go right back to where it was suppose to be when i stop the car. the check engine light is on and the code reads p0420 which is a bad cat. which am in the process of replacing.....at first i thought i was the cat but now am thinking its the 02 sensor but is that regular....every time i press on the gas pedal the meters goes down like 2 gallons...is that normal of a bad 02sensor/cat or is their something wrong with the fuel lines...oh and i had my gas tank replace not to long ago so it couldn't be the gas tank.
