I bought a new beetle in Feb. 2002 and paid for an extended warranty thru Masterguard. I don't remember seeing any documents come from them though. I know it was for a total of six years and like 60,000 miles (or maybe even 72K), so my coverage will be up soon. I need to get some warranty work done, and I would like to contact Masterguard before I bring my car in for service to the dealer. The dealer says they will handle everything then, but I'd rather get some info in hand first. My car has been running a little rough, and my CA DMV renewal is requiring a smog check, and I'm worried it won't pass. I heard that companies must cover emissions related repairs for up to 8 years/80,000 miles ? While my car is nearly six years old it only has 35,000 miles on it.
