Canoe Mount?
I have a 1999 Saturn SL2 (one is pictured here: http://www.carseek.com/car_images/99saturnsl2.jpg ) and I plan to go fishing a lot this summer. We have a boat but my car is not strong enough to pull it and the truck and the car that ARE strong enough to pull it are in use every day (my parents' cars). As a result I plan to take the canoe out with me for recreational purposes. However, I don't know how I would mount it on my roof.
I plan to slice a pool 'noodle' (styrofoam float) partially down the middle to stick on the sides of the canoe (mounted upside down) so it does not scratch the paint on my roof, but I am stumped on how to attach the front and rear of the canoe to my car. I don't know whether or not it will be better to attach the front of each end to a hook under the front and rear bumper (which I already have), or to do that and also loop it through the car itself (wrap it around the roof through the cabin (through the open windows).
