That's about $9 US per gallon. (ish)

I am in Italy now and that's about the same price, but my car runs on LPG so on LPG (GPL) I do 279 miles (500kms) with 25 euros (34USD) still dear but way better than just running on petrol like the brits do, about half price.

Regular unleaded gasoline in western Canada varies right now between $0.95 > $1.18 per litre. Assuming you want to convert to US gallons and US dollars, $1.00(CDN) per litre works out to $3.78 (CDN) per US gallon. With the current exchange rate, that is about $3.52 (US) per gallon. Most stations on the US side of the border in the Vancouver area are charging about $2.85 a gallon.

First off, what is a Kanuk? If you are looking for the nickname for Canadians, it is Canucks.
In Britain they use petrol, not petro, in Canada we use gasoline (basically the same fuel, just different names).
In Winnipeg the average price is $1.074 per litre.
