Camps/MMA gym typically won't start you out training Mixed Martial Arts, you train grappling (BJJ) and stand-up (muay thai, boxing) separately. We don't let new students mix the styles early on, you'll just have chaos and people getting injured.
Anyway, you typically do warm-up, push ups, jump ropes, and all those stuff for like 15 minutes. In stand-up class, if you're new the trainer will teach some basic stances, strikes, blocks, and combos. Probably light sparring, but here in my camp, they don't let new students join sparring session.
Grappling class/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu also starts warm ups. I say grappling class is much more intense than muay thai class. Work on some techniques, submissions, reversals, transitions etc. After that, they will let you roll, and that's the fun start! (LOL) For first timers, your partner is not allowed to submit you, just work on transitions and stuff, passing his guard, getting on mount etc.
