I am looking for a book that is similar to grand theft auto in style, because I want to start reading more and feel this would hold my interest. I have searched online, thinking that with a game that plays like a movie, there must be some literary work beyond Fan Fiction (which is great, but not what im looking for). Any help would be appreciated. Just to be clear, Im looking for a crime centric story, maybe involving the 'gangsta' type of protagonist, and please, no history (I tried reading Public Enemies and got bored after 50 pages).
