I wrote this poem in an attempt to get a free laptop, but there were to many advertisements, anyways I just received an email from poetry.com saying that I'm a semi-finalist. I think it's a scam, but what do you guys think?

Nodding off into a deep sleep where I'm the girl
Not the awkward child with less than enough
But there, I'm the girl with the long hair and good looks
Guys want me, unlike I want myself
Self-wanting?
Narcissist, Judgmental
But not there, I'm accomplished: a man wants me
My hair is real, he is real
Real d*** shame it ain't true
A freakin' ringing, press the button
Eyes adjust, head clears
What day is it? Am I still alive?
Dang, it's 3:00 am And a few minutes
Time is relative; Like one's perception of oneself
Narcissist, Greek mythology With beautiful heroines
Am I there? No.
Only there where I'm the girl with the good looks
Move Along, There's nothing to see
But wait...finally, they're here to see me.

I hate to tell you that poetry.com is a scam. I also entered a poem into them and I was so excited to get a letter in the mail saying I was a semi-finalist. Then after reading through the letter I realized that it was a scam because they want you to pay them to put your poem in a book that won't even be published.

I was so disappointed and after it happened to me I went and looked them up. Turns out TONS of people had experienced this with poetry.com. Some even paid them and never got a book. One sent in a poem that was a famous poem and they sent them back a letter saying they were a semi-finalist. Another wrote a poem cursing them out and they got a semi-finalist letter for that one.

It is really a shame, and I know I felt terrible when I found out that it was a scam.
