Bluetooth device not working on windows 7?

My bluetooth device used to work perfectly, I was able to send and recieve files on demand, all the sudden it stopped worked and I havent been able to get it to work ever since, it's been a long while.
It's really frustrating, specially because everytime i run any Linux OS, my bluetooth device works perfectly.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows how to deal with this?
Bluetooth device does not show at all on the device manager, nor will it let me add it from "devices and printers", when I try to, nothing shows up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
