Best way to make a Bluetooth android app?

Im trying to create an android application where I can control my RC car via Bluetooth Arduino. I already have the connections that need to go to the RC car and the Arduino. I just need help developing the app. I started with Eclipse but I dont know how to make custom toggle buttons to send out the signals to the bluetooth module.

If anyone can help with directions to create this app, I would appreciate it.

Its an indoor slow RC car so the 25ft Bluetooth range is enough.
