Well, the N-Router may be helpful, but if you have a VERY good Internet Service Provider, it will work with the G router. All the difference the routers do is decrease the lost "internet" that goes through the air.
It would probably be your best bet to plug it in, if possible, but if you can't, try going with your G router. If it's too slow, then try plugging it in and seeing if it'll work... here's a small attempt list
1st attempt: Use G router to see if it's possible
If it does not work, then:
2nd attempt: Plug the PS3 directly into the modem. If it works well, then it's possible that an N-Router will work. If it doesn't bode well when directly plugged into your modem, you *might* have to upgrade your internet.
