PS3 Not Playing Some Blueray Discs And Some New Ones, What Can I do? (Broken...

...Warrenty)? Okay, got my PS3 November of 2007. Had completely no problems whatsoever. Until, my blueray player got dirty, and stopped playing blueray discs(new blueray movies, and new ps3 games, but played my old and frooze once in a while). I took it to a local business in town that fixes consoles, cause I didn't save the stupid reciept for warrenty(bought it from Target). They took it apart, said the blueray lense needs to be replaced, and, charged me about $150 for labor and blueray lense replacement. Alright, I brought my baby back home, it played games without freezing, and it plays SOME new games. I bought Metal Gear Solid 4, and It Didn't Work! My ps3 currently STILL does not play blueray movies and new PS3 games! And, makes me mad. Uuhhh, any suggestions to how I can possibly fix it? Or, maybe sale it, then buy a new one?

I would call Sony and ask them how much it costs for them to fix it. Because you sent it to a local business already you will have to pay, for sure, because the seal has been broken (I'm assuming). Whereas, Sony will/would have fixed it for free depending on the problem, even without a receipt. I heard of Sony fixing systems for free due to their mechanical problems, such as lens malfunctions. Anyways, call them up and ask to see how much it costs. They will send you a box, or tell you how to send it, depending on where you live, and it could take 1-2 weeks to get it back. But at least the system will have a better chance of working properly, rather than having a local business doing it for you. If it's a 60GB or 20GB I would have Sony fix it. Otherwise, depending on the price of repairs I would just buy a new system. I don't know how much it costs for repairs so that's up to you.
