i had a blu-ray disc and when i tried to pop it in ma ps3..it tried to load and stuff but it later said "disc cannot be played".. The screen flashed like 3 times turnin blue..wats all this about?..i know there's nothin wrong with the ps3..so im not sure wat this is. Does it mean in order to play a blu-ray disc one must have an Hd-tv?.. coz i dont have that right now. this's puzzlin me coz all ps3 games are blu-ray discs and work jst fine with ma Sd-tv.. i also tried to change the screen size(6:9,4:3) but didnt work either.

you need to make sure you TV is HD compatable, it should say somewhere on it or in the manual
second you need to have the ps3 connected to the TV with a HDMI cable
