my mate bought the acer aspire 8930g blue ray laptop but he has lost the

dvd rom bd driver from MY COMPUTER? He has lost the BD DVD ROM Driver symbol from the "My Computer" 3 times now and can only get it back by re-installing his vista to the Laptop. He loses all the info he has saved on the PC Can any one help with firstly a reason this is happening and then secondly with a good answer to resolve this problem (PLEASE HELP).
