since it has a built in blue-ray player and costs about the same as some blue-ray players but also plays games? for those who have a ps3, would you reccomend it?

yes if you are planning on playing games, but it is also worth it if you are going to download music and video to play on the ps3

Yes.

Stand-alone Blu-Ray players has two extra features Netflix Streaming (You can't get this on the PS3) and Pandora Radio but I don't need those

Stand-alone Blu-Ray player with WiFi and BD-Live capability cost around $300(Samsung Blu-Ray for example the one with WiFi)

PS3
Game
Blu-Ray (Quality is exactly the same)
Internet
Hard Drive
Music
Movies

PS3 Slim or PS3 all the way

Yes highly recommended. Even just for Blu-Ray, this is the best quality you will get. It will update sometimes like once every month just so it can play well for you and for your gaming needs.

PS3 would be more worth it, if you game.

Just a warning, playing movies will mess up the functionality of the games.
