Which connector type is best for Blu-Ray's Full HD resolution other than HDMI? ?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop and its specs are:
Windows Vista Home Basic
Intel Core2 Duo 2.20GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
2.50 GB RAM
DVD-BD-ROM Drive
I have a Blu-Ray drive which means I can play Blu-ray movies on my PC. There are two things I want to ask first Blu-Ray movies are full HD (1920x1080p) whereas I have a resolution of 1280x800 on my laptop screen. Does that mean I cannot enjoy Blu-Rays in full HD resolution either on my laptop or external HDTV? What hardware upgrade do I need to get that? Second thing I want to ask is that if I want to connect my PC to an HDTV(Sony LCD TV) which connection type is best for full HD resolution so that I can enjoy Blu-Ray on my HDTV? My HDTV is full HD it has S-Video HDMI and HD15 PC(VGA) input. My laptop has an S-Video (which I know cannot deliver HD), and a VGA out connector. The user manual says the PC can also be connected via component dongle through S-Video out connector. I know DVI can deliver high resolution but I don’t have it on my laptop. I’m considering buying a Docking Station for my PC with a DVI connector would that help? But most external docking station DVI's output 1600x1200 only.
