The whole point of Blu Ray is to take advantage of 1080p and high definition TVs which use widescreen. For this reason, Blu Ray is widescreen by default. It is theoretically possible to put a "fullscreen" version on a Blu Ray disc as an alternative, but it will not be in high definition.
