Blue Ray or DVD(HD or normal)?

WHich would you prefer?
my personal opinion is that it is too soon to switch from DVDs period.
blue ray is supposed to be able to have more data on the disc. which does not necessarily mean longer movies. i don't want to switch when many good movies have yet to switch to normal dvds. your opinion?

A couple comments:

HD DVD is dead, don't waste time or money on it.
DVD is still a viable format. Also it is inexpensive.
Blu Ray is the highest quality image (that's what the additional space is used for most of the time, not longer movies), but if you're not working with an HD TV you're wasting your time. Also is still very expensive with little signs of dropping in price.

I have a Blue Ray and HD TV. I do like the quality of the Blue Rays dvds, but i wouldnt go out and rebuy all my movies, i got over 1500 dvds. I buy the newer movies i dont have on dvd a few months after the come out and the price does down on them.

But the quality is better on the Blue Ray than reg dvd. But if you do not have a tv with HD, i wouldnt waste the money for Blue Ray player.

the blu ray is just more crisp picture. i wouldn't switch ALL your dvds. i have a blu ray player and i just bought movies that i thought would look cool in hd. there's no need to switch
