It’s always so easy to stab someone in the back when there’s no chance to fight back. Well, you probably know what happened, some editors of RLSLOG decided to quit, convinced by ReeGed. I will tell you my part of the story just to make things little more clear.
Few months ago, RLSLOG had some problems with spammers. This site is running on Wordpress and Wordpress allows only System Admin to ban people. To cope with this problem, I talked with ReeGed and upgraded his user account to System Admin, which basically put him on the very same level as me - you can do everything on this level, edit, delete posts and user accounts. Everything went fine, but after a month or two, ReeGed obviously realized he had too much power in his hands. He started threatening other editors that if they don’t follow his rules, he will delete their user account and all posts. It was at this time when I realized it’s way too dangerous to have two System Admins and I removed this right from ReeGed and put him back to Editor, which is the second highest user level.
But he didn’t like it. He kept asking me to give it back to him. One of the his reasons was (direct quote): “because it sets the difference between the other random noobs who cant speak a single word of english and me“. I obviously didn’t give it back to him so he decided to quit instead. And now he had enough courage to convince these “random noobs” to quit with him. I value every editor who wrote a single article for RLSLOG and saying something like this about anyone is so lame, especially when there are people who did much more for the site than ReeGed.
The weirdest thing about it is I didn’t hear a single word unless this happened. I didn’t hear a single complaint. I talked with most of the guys literally 2 days ago and they were all cool and there were no problems. Now, out of sudden, I wake up and see that message full of half-truths and complete lies. That’s lame mate, normal people talk about problems first and then eventually act. There’s always a way to find a compromise.
All that bullshit about increasing ad revenue - the amount of ads at RLSLOG didn’t change for at least a year. I actually even removed some ads. I spent hundreds of dollars on Christmas gifts for editors, I gave out Rapidshare accounts, invites to private trackers etc.?? I paid for presents in our Birthday competition. Our posts are still looking the same way they looked when I founded this project. Seeing someone with 290 posts saying that I don’t care about the site when I wrote close to 4000 posts in last 3 years… is just lame. Probably as lame as silently deleting my admin account at Forums, when I trusted you enough to give you admin too.
I trully believe that all the cool guys who did an awesome amount of work and never complained and whom I really believed will reconsider their decision and eventually come back. As I wrote, the problems are here to talk about them and sort them out. Life will teach you that ReeGed. Meanwhile, RLSLOG lives on, may be with new people, may be with new design, but this site will be still here for you.
