How do i use a Torrent to download stuff?

i want to download movies and tv shows for free using a torrent but i dont know how to haha. can anyone please explain to me how they work and how you use one? and if you can suggest one thats good i would be very grateful

find a torrent you like
put torrent in utorrent

Once you have read this, go and find a torrent client, I myself use Bitcomet, It is good because it is reasonably simple to use, and you can try out a movie when only a small bit has downloaded to check quality.

Then go to a torrent site, I use The Pirate Bay, which is the best free torrent site. Demonoids also good but they only allow a certain amount of people and they are currently under maintenance, but keep an eye on them, and you might be lucky.

Lastly be careful when downloading torrents, some are duds (can't say I have struck any with The Pirate Bay) so READ the comments from people who have already downloaded it, some torrents will be naturally slow because due to number of seeders and leechers (look this up below for the definition) -
