If I unlock my Rogers phone, will the Rogers banner on the display go away?

I bought my first cell phone from Hong Kong, a Nokia 7370, and it was unlocked. When I got a sim card from Rogers, it did not display a banner on the display that said ROGERS.

I have recently purchased an LG Vu from Rogers, and have noticed that there now is a Rogers banner. My question is, if I get my LG Vu unlocked, will the banner go away?
