I can't set the time or the alarm on my SoundMaster iSnooze alarm clock?

I am following the instructions, but when I hit the HR button, nothing happens. I set the clock for 00:58, and it just went to 00:59 and then 00:00. I'm assuming that the HR button is just plain broken, but I wanted to make sure I'm not doing something wrong.
