How can i make a remote control on/off switch?

hi there i am looking to make a remote control on/off switch so i can light Pyrotechnics that i use in air soft and paintball i will run of a 9v or any battery that i will need to use it, or dose it have to be a on/off switch i want to press a button and it light can you help ?
