I hear the bells Mike Doughty tab
I do now know what key he, but I will share what I have figured out.
In his YouTube videos he uses a capo and it looks like it could be on the 7th fret. Unfortunately, video quality is not great. I suspect he is using an alternate tuning because the way he plays it in videos does not look like the way I play it, even though we end up sounding similar.
Intro and verses.
E--------------------/
B--------------------/
G----9-----9---9-----/
D--------7---7-------/
A--7---7-------------/
E--------------------/
If that gets too tedious, you can just strum:
E--------------------/
B--------------------/
G--9-9---9-9---------/
D--9-9---7-7---------/
A--7-7---7-7---------/
E--------------------/
He repeats this pattern for a lo~~~ng time, using it for the chorus.
Then when he repeats the chorus again, there is a chord change.
I can hear the bells are ringing joyful and triumphant
E----------------------------------------------------/
B------------------------9---------------------------/
G-9---11-----------------8---------------11----------/
D-9---11-----------------6---------------11----------/
A-7---9------------------6---------------9-----------/
E----------------------------------------------------/
The chords would be E F# and G#. I think he uses all major chords.
Live, when he plays with Scrap, he’ll do a little instrumental in the middle. I haven’t even tried that.
Hope this helps.
