What should it cost to have the rims on my bike swapped out?

I have a fixed gear and I want to switch the Alex rims I have on my bike now for some Deep-Vs I got on eBay. It is possibe to put my spokes and hubs on the new rims, right? How much should I expect to pay for my LBS to do this?

The spokes are almost certainly the wrong length for the new rims. My shop charges $56 in labor per wheel, plus $.55 each for straight gauge spokes and $.85 each for butted spokes. In other words, it costs almost as much as getting new wheels. If I were you, I'd put the rims back on e-bay and if they sell, use the money for new wheels.

Run, don't walk away from the Alex product. It is junk. My bike mechanic charges $25 + parts to build wheels.

Find some other rims. Alex will have problems and they do NOT stand behind their product.
