    Ok blackberry owners...?

    I just bought my blckbrry yesterday an 8310.... i see now that i don't have video which is poo, but i am doing some research on downloading the 4.5 os for blackberry to get video and voice memos... see the link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIAZMwgH0lw&feature=related
    but that's not my question *but if anyone has any info on it i'm down to hear it too*
    i was mainly wondering if when i am on standby i can still receive calls and texts and hear my alarm?
    anything else that i need to know would be nice, the book wasn't very helpful; but so far this phone is sweeeeet

    I personally already have the unofficial release of 4.5 on my blackberry. Its nice but you may want to wait until official release by your carrier because if it messes up, you can't replace your phone with the wrong software on it. - Go to blackberry.com and check to see if your phone (provided by your carrier) will allow you to download 4.5
    Yes. When the phone is on standby the phone will still ring, beep, alert etc. It just won't allow you to accidentally press buttons if it's in your pocket or something.
